HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAGGIE!
Everyone said time would fly by, and they were all right. This past year has been the happiest blur I’ve ever experienced.
Maggie, your dad and I adore your kind spirit, your quick smile, your sense of humor. We are in awe of you, and still can’t quiiiiite believe you’re ours (but we’re so very glad you ARE!).
Oh, my girl, my hope for you is that you know how incredibly loved you are. Not just by your dad and me, but by a whole tribe of people, from your grandparents to your aunts, uncles, and cousins, to your extended family, to a collection of others that may as well be family, because they love you like you’re their own.
In celebrating this first year of your precious life, I want to acknowledge ALL of those special people:
Thank you for loving our little family. For celebrating with us. For being there to help with childcare, for passing along hand-me-downs from your own children, for going out of your way to meet our girl, for sending us encouraging notes, texts, and emails throughout the last year, and for many other things too numerous to name: thank you to each and every one of you.
I love that our Maggie-girl is growing up surrounded by love. (After all, isn’t that the most important thing of all as humans, to know we’re loved fiercely and unconditionally?) You are giving her the greatest gift possible (and your love for Kevin and me in the process is incredible).Â
Thank you for loving our girl.Â
My Maggie, you couldn’t be more treasured. I am honored to be your mother, and this past year — getting a front-row seat to watch your personality start to come out and to witness you discovering SO MUCH NEWNESS — has brought me so much joy. I can’t wait to see what this next year holds for us, as you continue to grow and laugh and learn.
We love you!
