For the past couple of years, I’ve loved leveling up my salads and other dishes by incorporating my favorite condiment: Haven’s Kitchen sauces. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve likely seen me post about this brand OFTEN, and that’s because it’s a must-have fridge staple for me, and something I use several times a week.
The sauces are so ridiculously versatile, and can be used on salads, stir fry dishes, served as a dipping sauce for adults and kiddos alike, as a drizzle to make a regular veggie side dish POP with flavor, and sooooo much more.
I’m SUCH a fan of Haven’s Kitchen, in fact, that I realized it wasn’t enough to post about it on Instagram stories — I wanted to dedicate a blog post to it to give you a peek into the story behind this brand, how to use these sauces, where to find Haven’s Kitchen, why their ingredients and packaging are truly stellar, and more. Let’s get to it, shall we?
(Oh, one more quick thing before we get to the good stuff: If you like what you read and want to give Haven’s Kitchen sauces a try after reading this, be SURE to take advantage of their $2 off sauce deal. You just buy a sauce wherever it’s convenient for you, share a photo of your receipt with Haven’s Kitchen, and they’ll Venmo you $2 back so you’ll save on your purchase. So fun!)
–The ingredients are incredibly fresh and clean. I think it makes sense to start here. After all, I’m an ingredients person, and I know many of you are, too! Flipping food over to check to see what’s in it is a smart practice, and one that can often result in discovering some pretty unsavory information — ESPECIALLY in the world of condiments. Sooooo many sauces and dips and spreads and dressings include ingredients like added sugar, oils, artificial food dyes, and more — but those ingredients are NOT present in Haven’s Kitchen sauces.

For example, check out the ingredients list in my favorite HK sauce flavor, Golden Turmeric Tahini: Water, Tahini, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Roasted Garlic, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Date Paste, Sea Salt, Turmeric, Cumin, Ground Sumac (Sumac, Salt), White Pepper. Now THAT’S a condiment I feel great about using.
–Haven’s Kitchen was designed to make meal prep easier without sacrificing ingredient and flavor quality. Of course, there’s no shortage of options when it comes to convenience foods, whether those are frozen meals, canned soups and more, sauces and condiments galore, or the plethora of packaged snacks and other foods. Convenience is great…but often it comes at a cost. Maybe the ingredients are sub-par (see my above bullet point!), or perhaps the flavor is lacking. Not with Haven’s Kitchen sauces, though. We’ve already established that the ingredients are phenomenal, but know this: It also makes your life WAY easier when it comes to adding mega flavor to your food.
Speaking of flavors, Haven’s Kitchen sauces are globally inspired and the variety is amazing. The sauces are also all vegan, Kosher, Halal, gluten-free, and keto!
A note: Haven’s Kitchen sauces are not inexpensive, but I think it’s important to keep in mind the high quality of ingredients as well as the versatility of these sauces. For me, that makes purchasing them on repeat a total no brainer. If I were to make something even remotely similar at home, it would likely cost more and would be a BIG time suck.
–Before the sauces, Haven’s Kitchen was a cooking school! I think this is such a fun piece of HK history to know about. The brand was first founded in New York City in 2012 by Alison Cayne as the Haven’s Kitchen Cooking School. Her goal was to make cooking more fun and a LOT easier with classes that helped people REALLY cook. Now, of course, the brand has expanded far beyond NYC to bring amazing sauces to people across the U.S., opening up a world of delicious possibilities for everyone.

–The packaging is thoughtfully designed as well as recyclable — YAY! Y’all KNOW I love a brand that’s given significant attention to packaging, and Haven’s Kitchen goes above and beyond in this area. The brand’s founder, Alison Cayne, was inspired by the squeezable packaging used for paint (her mother is an artist), and appreciated that it allowed you to easily use the product and use as much of it as possible, too. Haven’s Kitchen’s squeezable pouches are so, so simple to use while preparing food (as opposed to sauces and condiments that come in bottles and jars and require shaking or a utensil to get it out).
But in addition to being really lovely to use, the Haven’s Kitchen pouches also really perform from a sustainability standpoint. HK did a life cycle assessment to choose the most sustainable packaging for our products and learned that lightweight pouches have a significantly gentler impact than glass or rigid plastic — even if they’re NOT recycled. Pouches use 80% less water, and ONE truckload transports 76,000 filled pouches, while 26 trucks would be needed to transport the same amount of sauce in glass jars. WHOA!
Want to take it a step further and recycle your pouches? (SAME.) Good news — you can easily recycle all of our pouches through the brand’s partnership with Terracycle! (It’s free to request a pre-paid envelope to ship your empty pouches to Terracycle so they can be recycled. I’ve done this and it really is so simple.)
–There are SO many ways to incorporate the sauces into your meals. My personal favorite way to use Haven’s Kitchen sauces is as a dressing on my salads. I’ll squeeze a generous portion of an HK sauce onto my salad (sometimes accompanied by a red wine or balsamic vinegar as well) and mix it up to add SO much great extra flavor to my meal. Another go-to for me is using HK sauces as a component of a stir fry dish. But really, the uses are pretty endless — and Haven’s Kitchen is here to help with inspiration! Check out their website for TONS of recipe ideas.

But keep in mind: One of the best things about Haven’s Kitchen sauces is how easy they are to use. They’re like a way to cheat in the kitchen, because all you have to do is, say, squeeze some sauce over some roasted sweet potatoes and BAM — you just leveled up that side dish in a major way. You don’t have to overthink it — just start adding these sauces to your meals. You’ll be so glad you did!
–The sauces are available at grocery stores around the country and can also be purchased online. If you try a sauce, be SURE to take advantage of their $2 off sauce deal. You just buy a sauce wherever it’s convenient for you, share a photo of your receipt with Haven’s Kitchen, and they’ll Venmo you $2 back so you’ll save on your purchase. So fun! Just check out their store locator page to find where HK sauces are sold in your area.
In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where I live, I always grab my sauces at our local Whole Foods store. You can find the sauces in the produce section, near the vegan products. They’re also available at Fresh Market in Winston!
–There are six delicious flavors to choose from. My personal faves are the Golden Turmeric Tahini and Coconut Cashew, but I’ve tried them all and they are ALL great. (It also depends, of course, on the flavor profile you’re going for!)

The six options are:
- Herby Chimichurri: A fresh take on the zesty South American herb sauce, starring parsley and oregano + pops of capers and chili flakes.
- Gingery Miso: A smooth, salty-sweet sauce. Starring ginger, white miso, rice vinegar & a dash of toasted sesame oil.
- Golden Turmeric Tahini: A fresh take on a Middle Eastern classic. Starring toasted sesame seeds, Extra Virgin olive oil, lemon, and sumac.
- Edamame Green Goddess: A vegan take on a creamy, herby classic. Starring basil and mint, with pops of lime juice and Serrano pepper.
- Red Pepper Romesco: A rich, savory ode to a colorful Spanish classic. Starring roasted sweet Piquillo peppers, roasted almonds, and Calabrian chilis.
- Coconut Cashew: A vibrant Thai-inspired sauce for cooking or dressing. Starring ginger, lemongrass, makrut lime, and coconut milk.
So, what do you think? Are you sold on Haven’s Kitchen sauces yet? I hope my adoration for this brand came through loud and clear on this post, and please let me know (either with a comment here or a tag on Instagram) what you think of these sauces if you give them a try!
Speaking of trying them…here’s one final plug for their $2 OFF SAUCE DEAL. Definitely don’t miss out on that!
