Friday Favorites (April 2, 2021)

It’s been such a whirlwind of a week — in a good way — and it’s hard to believe it’s already Friday. Last weekend, we celebrated Maggie’s 4th birthday with a small outdoor party, and it was an absolute blast. Being able to plan an event and get food, decor, details, etc. prepped was something I realized I’d missed SO much, and we also had family come in town to make the weekend extra special. Some out of town friends stopped by for dinner on Monday, which was another treat, and then we celebrated Maggie’s actual birthday on Wednesday (the 31st) with a day full of fun.

Now here we are at the end of the week, and I’m looking forward to a rather relaxing weekend and a chance to catch up on things just a bit. In the meantime, though, I wanted to share a few favorites with you!:

Anything For Selena Podcast: Fellow podcast lovers — this one’s for you! If you’re searching for a new series, I highly recommend giving this one a try. Yes, it’s about Selena, but the host uses Selena as a way to dig deeper into connection, into belonging, into race, into culture, into body image, and so much more. I loved it!

Rothy’s Sneakers: WHY did I wait so long to invest in a pair of Rothy’s?? It’s not like I was unaware of the brand. I’ve been hearing for years about how wonderfully comfortable they are, and the sustainability element of the company is icing on the cake. I finally grabbed a pair of their sneakers in black, and I am head over heels in love. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pair of shoes quite as comfortable as these. (If you’re interested in trying a pair and saving $20 in the process — yes, please! — be sure to use my referral link. You won’t regret trying this brand out!)

Birch Benders Plant Protein Pancake & Waffle Mix: This has definitely become a favorite at our house! You can find this mix tons of places (I usually order it from Thrive Market or pick it up at Whole Foods), and love keeping it on hand for a quick, easy, delicious, and healthy breakfast option. Tip: I like making the whole bag (pancakes are my go-to for this mix, versus waffles!) and then either freezing what we don’t eat right away or keeping the extras in the fridge if we plan to eat them sooner.

Siete Sea Salt Grain-Free Tortilla Chips at Costco!: My FAVORITE tortilla chips are now available in mega bags at Costco, and it makes me inordinately happy. I’ve loved crunchy and salty snacks even more since being pregnant with Vance, and these are my go-to choice for sure.

Joggers: You may have seen me post about this recently, but it’s worth mentioning again here: I’m OBSESSED with joggers lately. They’re so comfortable, and help you look a little more put together than a pair of leggings, making them an even more versatile style of pant. I can’t get enough! Check out some of my favorites here.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a happy Easter!
