Maggie Monday (February 12, 2018)

Y’all. Maggie and I spent time yesterday with the talented Emily Elrod to get some Valentine’s Day-themed photos taken, and they turned out SO sweet! I just love having these pictures of our happy girl at this stage. I had to start with these because they just make me smile every time I look at them. How did we get lucky enough to get to call this little nugget ours?

Maggie’s holding strong with just two teeth, but that isn’t getting in the way of her ability to eat well! We still have yet to find a food this girl doesn’t love, and it’s fun introducing new foods to her (like green smoothies — she’s a fan!). Here, she’s enjoying a bagel and some banana.

We’re totally biased, of course, but Maggie also seems FUNNY. Not just funny accidentally, but funny in that she knows she is. It’s a joy watching her personality come out more and more.

She’s also starting to get more and more interested in books, and will often sit still for us to read a book to her from start to finish now (and sometimes wants you to read her the same book a few times in a row). I loved capturing this sweet moment of Kevin reading to Maggie over the weekend. (And that Jungle Sounds Usborne book is her current favorite piece of literature, hands down. I’ve been so impressed with the quality of that book. The animal sounds are amazing!)

Maggie-girl is also starting to want to “help” more and more. Often, I help her turn out a light when we leave a room, and she gets SO excited when the room goes dark and she realizes she had a hand in it. Here she is “helping” me put away some of her clean laundry! 🙂

People told us being a parent would be amazing, but I had no idea how very, very right they’d be.

Here’s to another week of Maggie cuteness!
