Maggie Monday (May 22, 2017)

Happy Monday, y’all!

Those of you who read this blog regularly have noticed that I’ve been including Maggie updates in my Friday Favorites posts since she was born. I’ve used those weekly posts to share photos of her from the past week and other tidbits about her growth.

That’s worked okay, but I realized I was clogging up those Friday Favorites posts with, well, Maggie! Instead, I’m going to start posting a Maggie-centric update on Mondays. That way, Friday Favorites posts will be able to stay a little more focused on their intended purpose and I’ll still get to brag on my girl. Win-win? I think so.

So here we go — the inaugural Maggie Monday post!:

Quick stats:

-She’s 7 weeks old. (HOW did that happen??)
-She’s eating like a champ. (I’m not sure about her weight, but we’ll get an update on that during her two-month appointment on May 31.)
-She’s consistently sleeping through the night (for about eight-hour stretches).
-She turns into a gremlin most every night starting at about 7 p.m. until she goes to bed, which isn’t so awesome to deal with, but given the length of time she’s sleeping at night we aren’t complaining about some evening grouchiness!
-She’s just started recognizing and smiling at Kevin and me, and it’s the most rewarding feeling in the world when I go to get her from her crib in the morning and she grins up at me.
-She makes very intense eye contact. (Don’t challenge this kiddo to a staring contest.) Also, her eyes are still blue, like her daddy’s, and I’m so hopeful they’ll stay that way!
-She’s obsessed with ceiling fans and overhead lights.

I still can’t believe this girl is mine. Every day she keeps getting more and more fun, too!
