Start with sushi. Add in burgers and a quality beer list. Season with clever art and an intriguing menu. Watch diners enjoy.
So goes The Cowfish’s approach.
The Cowfish, a burger and sushi restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a place Kevin and our friends Allen and Mary stumbled upon when searching for a lunch spot last weekend, and we’re oh-so-glad we did.
While waiting to be seated, we were kept entertained by checking out the colorful art gracing the restaurant’s walls. Some of Kevin’s and my favorites included the Wendy’s and Burger King and the Godzilla Obamicon pieces. (We plan to reach out to the artist, Scott Partridge, to see if we might be able to get any of his art for our house. We loved it!):
The menu (slightly overwhelming because it’s so large) contains options such as “Burgushi” (options that mix sushi and burger components) and “The Cowfish Has Offically Left The Building (A.K.A. The Hunka, Hunka Burnin’ Love),” a burger with peanut butter, fried bananas, and bacon.
I went for the Fusion Specialty Bento Box, which was a Burgushi option including a mini jalapeno and pepper jack cheese burger, a Mark’s roll (tuna and jalapeno), sweet potato fries, edamame, and spicy cucumber salad. The verdict? YUM! I can’t believe all those components complemented each other so well, but it totally worked. (It reminded me of the time I had a meal at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles in L.A. I’d never thought of pairing those two foods before, but they were delicious!):
Do yourself a favor and be sure to pay a visit to The Cowfish if you happen to be in the Charlotte area.
Have you discovered any great new restaurants lately? If so, do tell!
This bento box looks tasty indeed. You are an awesome food photographer. The lighting works wonders for the food you’ve featured in this post. 🙂
