Friday Favorites (August 16, 2019)

What? A Friday Favorites post from Anna? I know — it’s been a minute. (Since MAY 10, specifically. Whoa — I know.) But, as I shared in my most recent post (from June 18 — ha!), blogging has been something that’s had to take a backseat to, well, life lately.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss it! I definitely do, and I find myself jotting down content ideas often. It’s just the matter of finding the time to sit down and bring those content ideas to life. So it was a treat to have that time to put today’s post together! It’s not a long one, but it feels good to get back at it — even in a small way.

With that, who’s ready for some Friday Favorites? Here are a few things I’ve been loving lately:

  • Historically, I haven’t been much of a clothes shopper on Amazon. I don’t know why I’ve stayed away from apparel on Amazon — I think it’s because it seemed overwhelming with SO many choices — but recently I’ve grabbed two items I’ve loved and I think I’m hooked. This dress and this romper are both so cute and so affordable! (For reference, I got a small in the dress and a medium in the romper.) You can find links to both in my Amazon store (along with other categories like baby and toddler gear, should you be interested). I still need to add more to my store (it’s brand new), so keep checking back for updates!

  • Kevin, Maggie, and I are all enjoying our first (and likely not last) jar of The Coconut Cult probiotic coconut yogurt. We got the original flavor and it’s incredible (ingredients: coconut meat, coconut water, and probiotics). It’s like a healthier version of a gummy vitamin: Really good-for-you stuff in a delicious package. Oh, and get this: these aren’t just any old probiotics in The Coconut Cult’s yogurt. According to Well + Good, “it’s filled with 15 strains of human probiotics…growing in a lab since being taken from actual people 30 years ago, and they work synergistically with the four other non-human bacteria strains in the formula.” We look forward to getting good probiotics in every day thanks to this stuff! We get ours at Village Juice here locally, but you can order it online as well.

  • OMG, So Delicious makes oat milk ice cream now, and it’s SO GOOD. (Well, THIS flavor is so good, at least. I can’t speak to the other two, but I’m betting they’re awesome as well.) I grabbed mine at Whole Foods but have seen them at other stores, too, so be on the lookout for some next time you’re shopping for a sweet treat. You won’t be disappointed! (P.S. Speaking of Whole Foods and ice cream, did you know they have a vegan chocolate gelato in the cafe in-store? It gets two thumbs up from me!)

  • Last but definitely not least, I’ve been using Beautycounter’s new anti-aging skincare line, Countertime, and I’m so very in love. I love how hydrated and plump it makes my skin, not to mention helping to tighten up lines and wrinkles and help my skin be brighter overall. It’s formulated with a safe, plant-based alternative to retinol — bakuchiol — which brings all the benefits of retinol (addressing lines and wrinkles, etc.) without the downside (sensitivity to sunlight, dryness, potential harm to a fetus, etc.). If you’re in Winston and would like to give my extra set a try, please let me know! I’d love to loan it to you.

I hope you have a fun weekend ahead! It was my birthday on Wednesday, so it’s been a week full of celebration for me — and I get to spend time with more friends tonight to keep the party going. Lucky me!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
