It’s a rainy Friday, but a Friday nonetheless, so that calls for some celebration!
We’re looking forward to a fun weekend, including an Easter egg hunt, some solid hang time with friends tomorrow afternoon, and dinner with more friends Sunday. (Oh, and definitely some Pure Barre woven in there, of course!)
In the meantime, I have a handful of things I wanted to share with you this week. Here are things I’ve been loving lately:
- First up: Beautycounter is having a 15% off sale this week (it ends on Monday, April 15), and sales like this are so, so rare. (If you’re an Ebates user, you’ll be excited to hear that the Beautycounter site offers 4% cash back — even more savings!) If you already love the brand, it’s a great time to stock up on favorites or try a new product or two. If you’ve heard me talk about Beautycounter’s safer skincare and makeup and have been interested but haven’t pulled the trigger yet, now is a perfect time to do it (and save in the process!). With Beautycounter’s generous return policy (every order comes with a pre-paid return shipping label so you can easily send it back if you don’t love it), there’s no risk in giving this brand a try. (Oh, and if you’re not sure where to start, take my short skincare survey and I’ll deliver personalized recommendations straight to your inbox.)
- I posted a photo to my Instagram stories earlier this week showing me wearing this kimono (actually a swim cover-up that I decided would be a kimono, and it totally is!) I snagged from Amazon. Many of you messaged me to ask for the link, so I thought I’d share it here, too! (I just saw that there are only four left in stock, too, so grab one now if you want one!)
- I came across this quote recently, and I found it to be such a powerful shift in thought. I can’t stop thinking about it, so I wanted to share it here in case you find it helpful as well:
- Along the lines of feeling introspective and inspired, I recently discovered the brand Holstee (thanks to Kevin), and am so glad I did. They describe themselves as providing “inspiration and tools to help you live mindfully,” and to aid in that they create posters, reflection cards, mindful kits, and more. (We actually have their manifesto poster up in our office entryway!) They ALSO have an amazing daily email list you can sign up for, and I strongly recommend you sign up. Here’s one of the emails I got from them earlier this week:

You know when you are looking for just the right word and you can’t find it?
You come across a lot of similar words, ones that almost capture the meaning of what you’re trying to express but are missing a crucial something.
I had that feeling for years.
The word I was looking for was arete.
The Greeks, in all their wisdom, came up with a single word that carries with it one of the greatest pursuits of humankind. Arete means “to exist to your full potential”.
When my brother Mike first introduced me to this word, I was struck. Here was one word that captures everything we focus on at Holstee.
Arete isn’t about the American dream. It’s not about fancy cars. It isn’t about impressive job titles or the number of Facebook friends you have.
It’s about existing and existing beautifully — to your own definition of success, to your own potential.
Arete. The perfect addition to your collection of “words to live by”.

Here’s to a happy Friday and a beautiful weekend ahead. (And if you’re reading this, thank you. Thank you for being part of this community. I’m so, so glad you’re here.)
