Friday Favorites (September 22, 2017)

So much happy today: Friday, the first day of fall, (and a giveaway for those of you who are members of my Beautycounter Facebook group!).

It’s been a good week. A busy one, but a good one. (And having Monday off to spend with my family in the mountains was a treat for sure.) And now it’s nearly the weekend — YES!

Ready for some faves? Let’s get to it:

  • I’m such a sucker for anything Rifle Paper Co. makes (their iPhone cases are the only ones I use), and so it’s no surprise that I’m swooning over the Rifle Paper Co. holiday collection, which includes adorable cards as well as gift wrap and gift tags. (Too soon for the holidays? I beg to differ. While I’m adamantly opposed to pre-Thanksgiving Christmas decorations, movies, or music, I’m very keen on getting my holiday shopping done as early as possible. In fact, I made a Google Sheets spreadsheet earlier this week to start capturing who Kevin and I will need to buy gifts for this year. Type A much? Uh…yeah. I’ll own it.)

  • For those of you who live in the Triad, you HAVE to hit Casey Kieffer up for your hair if you’re in the market for a stylist. She’s amazing at both color and cuts, and I feel so fortunate to have found her! (She used to work in Yadkinville but is now at the 4th Street Brow Studio right in downtown Winston. Score!) I got my hair done last night and it was one of the best parts of my week. (Shout-out to two friends who watched Maggie-girl, too, so I could enjoy being pampered at the salon. Watson and Kaley: y’all are amazing!)

  • Speaking of pampering…if you haven’t gotten on the facial oil train yet, you’re definitely missing out. After trying it for myself, I’m completely sold, and now religiously mix a drop or two of oil into my moisturizer before applying it both morning and night. But you don’t have to take my word for this amazingness. Beautycounter’s Brightening Facial Oil (which contains Vitamin C, omega-rich marula oil, and more) just won an Allure “Best of Beauty 2017” award! Here’s an excerpt from Allure’s review of the oil: “I don’t know what kind of magic they put in here, but the blend is one of the softest, fanciest-feeling oils I’ve ever tried. It’s just rich enough that it’s hydrating, but it’s not greasy or heavy in the slightest, which is impressive because there’s such a fine line with oils.” The full review is here!

  • And I’ll leave you with this note of deliciousness: Village Juice Co.’s Curry Bowl. Y’all. I saw this menu item featured on VJC’s Instagram account earlier this week and knew I had to have it. Thankfully, I already had a lunch date scheduled there with a friend for today, and was able to try out this bowl. It’s full of lentils, rice, curry kraut, coconut curry sauce, and lots of veggies, and it’s incredible. Get you one, stat.

Hope everyone has a great first weekend of fall!
