Friday Favorites (May 12, 2017)

How is it already time for another Friday Favorites post? That means my Maggie-girl is SIX weeks old today! The weeks since her birth have truly flown by, but they’ve been jam packed with special moments and memories.

The MOST special moment of this week, for sure, was surprising my mom at her retirement party yesterday afternoon. My sister, Susan, and I schemed with my dad and some of my mom’s co-workers to coordinate the surprise, and it was so much fun to walk into the party and totally blindside her with our presence. We are SO proud of your years at Peachtree Elementary School, Mom, and know you’re going to flourish in retirement, too. You’ve earned it!

(Here’s a video a friend captured of the moment we surprised Mom!):

Now on to some of my favorite Maggie photos from the past week!:

Pure adorableness, am I right?

Okay, now some things I’ve been loving lately:

  • Purely Elizabeth granola. If you haven’t tried this yet, please look for it next time you’re in your grocery store! (In Winston, I get it at either Publix or Target, but just saw it’s available online at Thrive Market, too, which is great news since I love placing orders there as well.) Not only are the flavors amazing, it contains ingredients you can feel good about (ancient grains, oats and seeds with dried fruit, organic coconut oil, and organic coconut sugar). I love to mix it with some coconut Siggi’s skyr, a sliced banana, a drizzle of almond butter, and hemp hearts. Breakfast deliciousness!

  • Library of Flowers Eau de Parfum in Root. My friend Micheal and I stumbled upon this brand while shopping in Southport next week, and loved lots of their fragrances. (Oh, and the packaging? To die for.) My favorite by far was their Root fragrance, which has a distinctly earthy scent, but also a nice brightness to it. I’ve been loving wearing it this week! (Unfortunately, it’s no longer listed on Library of Flowers’ website, but seems to be available on Amazon from a few sellers.)

Westbend Winery and Brewery. Winston friends: you must check this place out if you haven’t yet! We’ve gone to Medaloni Cellars a few times and love that spot, but lucked into visiting Westbend last Sunday when Medaloni was having an oyster roast and was over crowded. Both the beer and wine were impressive (I loved their Sauvignon Blanc), and they had great live music and a stellar atmosphere overall. We’ll be back for sure!

Hope y’all have a lovely weekend ahead of you! I’m headed to South Carolina for a baby shower to celebrate my sister’s baby boy, who’s due in July. Yay for babies!
