What’s the best ice cream you’ve ever tasted?
Unless you’ve tried High Road Craft Ice Cream, you haven’t had the best yet.
I know — that’s quite the bold statement, but I’ll stand by it. High Road is exceptionally good ice cream. Have you heard of this stuff? It’s an Atlanta-based company that creates unforgettable flavors such as Bourbon Burnt Sugar, Vanilla Fleur De Sel, and Mixed Berry Buttermilk. Yum, right? (The Vanilla Fleur De Sel is my favorite, hands down. It’s so much more than just “vanilla.” The touch of salt is a perfect juxtaposition to the sweetness of the cream, and its simplicity is what makes it so amazing.)
But you don’t have to take my word for it (cue the Reading Rainbow theme music). Alton Brown is also a fan of High Road, and I’d say Mr. Brown knows his stuff. In fact, you can listen to Alton interview the mastermind behind High Road, Keith Schroder, in this Podcast from Alton’s Nerdist series.
I’m thrilled that Winston-Salem’s Whole Foods stocks High Road, and it sounds like this delightful product is finding itself stocked in more and more grocers’ freezers, which is excellent news. Be on the lookout for this deliciousness if you haven’t sampled it yet, and get ready to discover your new favorite ice cream!
One of the highlights of my culinary life was touring the High Road Craft factory here in Atlanta. It was a delicious and educational experience. It is truly a high quality product, and lovingly made.
