My sister got married last weekend, and everything was perfect and she was beautiful. It was just what you’d hope from a wedding, in fact. Not only did I have a blast, now I have a super cool brother-in-law to boot. Pretty awesome, I’d say.
Susan and Marty tied the knot at Atlanta’s Biltmore Ballroom, where both the ceremony and reception took place. We celebrated their big day with friends and family from near and far, and it’s a day I’ll never forget! (My one complaint with the event was that, since I’m married, my title was “Matron of Honor” rather than “Maid of Honor.” Ugh — a matron? No, thanks. But I tried to just go with it.)
Since we’re waiting on the professional pictures to be edited, I thought I’d share a walk through the wedding festivities via some photos I took throughout the weekend. Enjoy (and also look forward to the “real” photos, which are bound to be much better)!:
Susan and me at the bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Swan Coach House with our dear friend Sharon, who was the day-of coordinator for both our weddings:
Marty bonding with our adorable 15-month-old cousin, Jackson (I think he’s getting the official “welcome to the family” high five):
Rehearsing for the big day (isn’t this ballroom gorgeous??):
Marty, Susan, Kevin, and me pre-rehearsal dinner, accompanied by a few fish:
The bridesmaids plus the bride, all dolled up and wearing the cute monogrammed shirts Susan got each of us:
Me with the flower girls — Maria and Caroline — who were also the flower girls in my wedding (so they’re pretty much pros at this point if anyone’s in the market for some amazing flower girls):
My lovely bouquet (thanks to Angie at Birch Blooms), along with the adorable clutch Susan gave out as bridesmaids gifts:
And then we waited…
Time for the Matron to walk down the aisle (again — amazing venue, isn’t it?):
Time for THE SCHMIDS to cut the cake (it was from Baker’s Man — yum — and the food by Affairs to Remember was incredible, too):
Me with my wedding date:
And then we danced, and danced, and danced some more. (I was too busy dancing to snap any pics.) Like I said, a pretty perfect wedding. I’m so happy that I got to be a part of Marty and Susan’s big day! Love you both so much!
What a gorgeous day! And your sister looks so happy.
