I have a definite FAVORITE Friday Favorite to share this week: I have a brand new nephew, and he’s PERFECT! Benjamin Joseph Schmid was born on Monday, July 10, and we got to meet him on the day he was born. He’s just precious, and Maggie loved getting to meet her cousin, too!:

- For one, I’m hosting a Beautycounter event at the new Baby+Co. birth center here in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, July 25, at 5:30 p.m. I’ll be talking about ways I’ve found to balance safety with sanity when it comes to making healthy choices for my family and me, including, of course, skincare and make-up, but also touching on things like food and household cleaners as well. I discovered the Beautycounter brand while I was pregnant and looking for safe, yet still effective, skincare and make-up options, so this venue is the perfect fit. The headband portion is so lightweight and soft — perfect for such a brand-new head — and the bows themselves are so cute and not too big. I can’t wait to get a few more for our girl!
- I’ve loved using natural deodorant over the last year or so (check out this 2016 post where I tried out three different brands), and am always down to try out a new variety. I’d heard great things from friends about the Schmidt’s brand, and was thrilled to find these adorable travel-sized versions at TJ Maxx this past weekend (for just $2.99 each!).
