Happy Friday! Another weekend is upon us. What a wonderful feeling!
It’s been a great week over at Keller Manor, because my mom and dad have been in town watching our Maggie-girl while our sitter and her family are on vacation this week. We’ve loved (and appreciated!) having them here, and it’s obvious Maggie has had a blast this week, too.
(It was also so fun giving away an adorable UpDog Kombucha tank top earlier this week to one lucky blog reader. I have lots more fun giveaways planned for this summer, so be sure to stay tuned for those.)
Okay, on to some things I’ve been loving this past week:
- We made tacos for dinner Monday night (using romaine lettuce in place of shells or tortillas, which is an easy way to lighten things up) and I tried a new side dish: Mexican Cauliflower Rice. We looooove cauliflower rice at our house, and I was glad to discover that this super easy recipe is delicious, too. I’ll be making this again!
- Since it’s summer again, it’s full-blown smoothie-for-breakfast season for me. (I’ll share my recently changed thoughts on protein smoothies soon!) I’ve enjoyed this new Ello Kella BPA-Free Glass Sipper as a way to take my smoothie from home to work each day in style. So cute and summery!
- Winston-Salem is now the home of a Lidl grocery store. (Pronunciation: LEE-del) What’s Lidl? (Yeah, I didn’t know until recently, either!) It’s a German grocery store similar in many ways to Aldi. They’re known for low prices and quality private label brands. My parents, Maggie, Kevin, and I stopped by on Monday evening to check things out and were impressed by the selection, the price, and the distinct European feel. In addition to food, they sell a random assortment of items (which cycle in and out). When we were there, they had things like baby onesies and gardening gloves and headphones. We’ll be back for sure!
