Friday Favorites (February 15, 2019)

Happy Friday, friend.

I hope this has been a good week for you — a week filled with love!

We tend to keep things relatively low key for Valentine’s Day, and enjoyed dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate last night. (Oh, and I got Kevin a pair of socks with Maggie’s face on them, which actually seems more like a great Father’s Day gift in retrospect, but he loved them so that’s a win!) (I ordered them through Divvy Up Socks, in case you’re interested. You know, for Father’s Day! 😉)

I have a few things I wanted to share with you this week. Ready for my Friday Favorites? Let’s do this!:

  • Please, please take 10 minutes to read this piece barre3 shared about self worth and self talk. It digs into how closely tied language — the words we say both aloud and to ourselves — is to our belief that we are enough, and gives suggestions on ways to reframe that language. (For example, when thinking of your goals rather than phrasing something as “I can’t…”, consider telling yourself, “I’m learning to…”) As someone who loves words, this was especially poignant to me, and I hope you’ll read it, too. (If you do, please let me know what you think!)
  • Beautycounter launched a new product recently — Brilliant Brow Gel — and I AM OBSESSED. I’d never used a brow gel before (I’ve been a brow pencil girl), and I’m so impressed at how easy this is to use and what a difference it makes. It helps add definition to your face in a subtle, natural looking way, and doesn’t contain icky ingredients like many other brow gels do. (I wear Medium for reference!)
