Favorite Instagram Accounts To Follow: Food Edition

I’m always on the hunt for good Instagram accounts to follow, because I adore seeing lovely photos, clever quotes, and drool-inspiring dishes pop up on my feed. Of course, I love following my friends and seeing what they’re up to, but it’s fun to pepper in some other great accounts.

I was going to write one post to share my favorite non-friend Instagrammers, but it quickly got overwhelmingly long, so I decided to split things up into a series of posts based on Insta genre. First up: my top picks for food-related Instagrammers! (Priorities, right?) This list includes a hodge podge of food bloggers, chefs, and restaurants, all of which are guaranteed to add some deliciousness to your feed:

Jamie Oliver (@jamieoliver). Come on — who doesn’t love this Brit? He’s pretty hard to resist, and his Instagram is no exception. Describing himself as “a proud dad, chef, cook, general geek…” on his Insta profile, Jamie will keep your feed full of delightful dishes (of course), but also adorable pics of his kids and glimpses into both his everyday and celebrity life.

Donal Skehan (@donalskehan). Speaking of Jamie Oliver…this guy’s his protege! Donal’s Instagram account came as a recommendation from my pal Bethany, and it was a solid one. In Bethany’s words, Donal is an “…Irish former boybander turned cook and all around adorable guy. Cooks beautiful things that make you drool.” I would have to agree on all counts.

Julie Lee (@julieskitchen). Get ready for some beautiful food collages to enter your life, courtesy of Ms. Julie here. She creates lovely images that she says “…started out as a way to showcase seasonal and local offerings from neighborhood farmers markets. It’s evolved into an ongoing project in the study of plant design, exploration of color theory, and pure, unadulterated food-love. Let’s be real–I like to play with my food. Thanks for letting me nerd out.” Any time, Julie. Any time.

Tartine Bakery (@tartinebakery). Kevin and I visited this delectable shop for breakfast during our amazing San Fran trip a couple of months ago and fell in love with Tartine’s impeccable pastries. Seriously, you guys. Amazingness. Though we don’t have a Tartine here in Winston, thankfully the bakery has a stellar Instagram account so I can drool over their croissants and other baked perfection from nearly 3,000 miles away.

Spoon Fork Bacon (@spoonforkbacon). Teri Lyn Fisher and Jenny Park are behind this Instagram account, and they’re food stylists and photographers, so they know what they’re doing. They were practically MADE to start an awesome Instagram food-focused account. And so they have.

Richard Blais (@richardblais). I’m from Atlanta and I love interesting food, so this was a no-brainer. He currently runs three restaurants (FLIP Burger, The Spence, and Juniper and Ivy), and everything they all serve looks amazing. (Comes with the occasional photo of his family, too, which is super adorable.)

I Am A Food Blog (@iamafoodblog). Saveur named this blog 2014’s Best Cooking Blog, and it’s not hard to see why. (Caution: Don’t view on an empty stomach.)

Chrissy Teigen (@chrissyteigen). This gal’s hard to put in an Instagram genre (She’s a model! She’s a cook! She’s a traveler! She’s married to John Legend!), but I went with food. I think she’d appreciate that. Check out more on her blog, but take my word for it: this chick’s the coolest. For serious.
